Medicaid

Offers assistance with long-term care costs for those who qualify.

Medicare

Pays for skilled nursing services when certain criteria are met. If eligible for skilled services, Medicare will pay up to 100% for the first 20 days of care and 80% for the next 80 days of care, for a total of up to 100 days of care.

*If an individual is Medicaid approved or has secondary insurance, this may cover the 20% not covered by Medicare. When there is no Medicaid or secondary insurance coverage, the individual is responsible for the remaining 20%.
